Rev David Hearn |
District Superintendent |
|
My primary role in the district is to develop, cast and implement a vision for church health, church growth and church planting in the District. I work closely with the District Executive Committee to ensure an effective system of governance in the District. I also strive to be a spiritual mentor to the congregations and licensed workers in the District by personally modeling and motivating them in the pursuit of godliness, prayer, evangelism and missions. I am passionate about being a Spiritual Coach who encourages an environment that empowers Christian leaders and their ministries to be fully alive and fully engage in a Missional Movement where God-given dreams, visions and passions can be unleashed with life-transforming power. |

Until Dave is able to speak Chinese, I am his Chinese channel with weekly updates on CNN (Chinese Netword News). My responsibility includes networking among Chinese churches and workers within our District for healthy growth. I'm not a health nut with boxes of multi-vitamins and supplements. I believe in moderation and a balanced diet. I appreciate my team members in the District Office who are my rich resources as I seek to assist our Chinese churches and workers to maintain that balance in the ministry. If you prefer Chinese, please switch to the following channel: |

Rev Dr Larry Eide |
Assistant Superintendent |
|
My role in the district largely focuses on the support of church planting and church education ministries, as well as leading the accreditation process for potential new workers. I also support our District Superintendent in helping to plan and carry out other district functions. One of the reasons I love the mix of responsibilities in my role, is that I am passionate about seeing the kingdom of Christ extended into the lives of as many people as possible, which involves reaching them and teaching them so they can be transformed by God. Church planting is one of the best ways of reaching the most people possible, and CE is a vehicle for transforming and their relationships to Christ and others. |

For some reason many people have called me and those like me "Bean Counters". I have counted many things in my career but so far I've never counted beans. Most of my days in the district office involve monitoring the cash going in and out, talking with churches to help them stay on track with their own financial needs, dealing with government charities regulations and helping our churches obtain affordable financing. However, I also like taking on new challenges, so if anyone needs beans counted, bring it on, I'm your man! My wife is a daily reminder to me of God's Grace in my life. I have 3 heros in my life who regularly mirror to me the qualities of character I most want to mirror to others: compassion, joyfulness, and steadfastness. Outside of the office, my life mainly involves observing my children at various sports, and whenever possible I still foolishly try and compete with them. So far, I've broken one arm playing soccer, and one snowboarding. In recent years I have taken up running and have discovered the challenges of training for a race to be very similar to the challenges of walking a Christ-centered life. |

Karen Hardy |
Executive Assistant |
|
My main role at the District Office is working as Dave Hearn's executive assistant, especially as it relates to personnel in our District. I also work with Larry in the accreditation process. I appreciate Dave for his hugs and vision, Larry for his sense of humor, Shelby's mischevious grin, Nicki's kind and gentle spirt, and Kim's youthful creatvity and energy. One of the reasons I am excited about my role is the variety of tasks that I assist with, and the way I can use my gifts to serve people throughout the District. I also love reading books of all kinds, going on long walks with my husband and playing with my four (soon to be five!) grandchildren. |

P/T Benefits Administrator |

I am the newest member to the District Office joining in September 2008. After a long hiatus from working outside the home in order to be a full-time mom (a role which I loved!), I am excited to now be part of the Finance Department helping administer the Benefits programs. What a blessing it is working with a group of people who are genuine, who pray together and for each other, who laugh lots AND who are passionate about serving God through all the daily tasks and responsibilities. My husband Dave and I have two beautiful girls, Katherine (11) and Megan (6) - they're lots of fun! I enjoy traveling, multi-tasking around the home, and relaxing sunny weekends. |

Kim Olynyk |
Receptionist |
|
I work in the District Office as the receptionist. Along with answering the phones, I put together the District Newsletter and help keep the District Office sane, though some would say I aid in the insanity! From keeping the fridge stocked for meetings, to mailing our churches, and preparing for DEXCOM or Staff Retreat, work here is never slow! I've been married since February 28, 2009 to Mike, who works as a youth pastor and a finish carpenter. We live in Langley and are big canucks fans. We also love playing board games together. Some of our favourites are Empire Builder and Kingsburg! If you ever want to learn a great new game, our house is the place to visit! |
