Praise the Lord!  On Easter Sunday, Chilliwack Chinese Alliance Church held a baptism service for two believers, Helen Shi and Jennifer Wu.  Their testimonies moved many to tears.

Helen was an atheist from China.  She learned about Jesus during an evangelistic meeting in Singapore in 2003.  Year 2004 was a tragic year for her.  Not only did she lost her job, her boyfriend at the time married another woman, and both her parents passed away within one month of each other.  Helen collapsed during her parents' funerals and was sent to the emergency room.  She attempted suicide several times as she no longer found meaning in life.  Out of desperation, she cried out to God and poured out her sorrow.  The Lord comforted her and gave her a peace that's beyond understanding.  Helen asked God to give her a new family and God answered her prayer by blessing her with a loving husband and a son, who is her pride and joy!

Helen testified that her life was transformed after accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She is no longer self-centered and arrogant.  She has been attending Chilliwack Chinese Alliance Church since October 2009 and she loves and serves the Lord faithfully.

Jennifer Wu came from Taiwan.  She thought she had become a Christian when she was 18 years old but she never truly surrendered her life to Christ.  After immigrating to Canada, she became preoccupied with work and stopped attending church until just recently.  Jennifer shared that God's presence was so real to her when she was facing hardship that she was compelled to finally give her heart and life to Him.  She decided to get baptized this Easter to demonstrate her desire to surrender all to God.

These stories are just a sampling from one of our churches on Easter Sunday.  There were many other stories of new life and commitment to Jesus on Easter Weekend.  Praise the Lord with us for these inspiring stories of faith!
