If at the time of enrolment, the employee has alternate extended medical and dental coverage, he has the option to waive (opt-out-of) these benefits by completing and signing the designated section of the enrolment form.  The applicant, however, is required to complete their enrolment for life insurance and LTD benefits.

The wait period for the above benefits is 90 days from the official start date of employment.
