Please see the following invitation from John Driediger, Leadership Development Coordinator and Director of Addiction Recovery Ministry.
"It was our privilege and pleasure to be guests at the recent C&MA Pacific District Pastor's Retreat. I appreciated David Hearn's invitation to present our ministry and offer our resources. I believe that for many of our churches the Addiction Recovery Ministry could be a great opportunity for outreach to the community. It is also an opportunity of God has brought through their own recovery. This is a way for them to have a ministry in an area that they have earned the right to work in. My Pastor, Errol Rempel says, "God is using the addiction recovery ministry to bring joy and energy to our church."
We are beginning to conduct Addiction Recovery Ministry training seminars. Last weekend we drove up to Revelstoke and conducted a six hour training with Matthew Carter and some of his people. Our next training is scheduled for Saturday February 25th at Mountainview Alliance Church in Langley. Murray Boldt initially invited us to do a training for his church but has graciously opened it up to others that want to attend.
Who should attend? Possibly a team from a church with an interest in beginning a ministry like this. Possibly a couple that want to explore this possibility. My recommendation is that a good number of people on the leadership team should be people who have come through their own addiction recovery.
Please let us know if you plan on attending the upcoming training in Langley. If you are out of the area and you would like to know more about this please call me personally at 604-613-4123."
