What Are the Foundations for Ministry Courses?

These courses are offered in the CPD each February and October in order to help new workers to the district fulfill accreditation requirements.  The courses will also be available to persons from area churches who are not seeking placement with the Alliance but simply want to enhance their own spiritual growth and understanding.  These five one credit courses are taken over a three year period following placement, in addition to the Alliance History and Thought course which is taken for credit normally within one year of placement.

Who Teaches the Courses?

The courses are taught by faculty from our school in Calgary, Ambrose University College.  The courses are a partnership between Alliance districts and the school, as part of a joint effort to serve our Canadian constituency and further the goal of lifelong learning especially among Alliance workers and lay leaders.

 Cost of the Courses

$350 per Alliance worker per course, or for others who wish to take a course for credit.  $50 per course for those not required to take the course but wanting to audit it.

This course will take place over a Friday evening and Saturday at Coquitlam Alliance Church, in order to provide accessibility to the greatest number of potential participants.  The schedule will by 6:30pm - 9:30pm Friday evening and 9am - 4pm on Saturday.  Coursework will be completed following the classes as required by the instructors.  The time commitment is ten hours of class time and approximately thirty hours of reading and written work per course, for those required to take the series.
